Short version: Your graphs live on your device and in your own private iCloud database, which we cannot read. No account is required. When you use the AI Scribe, the text you submit is relayed through our server to Google Gemini for processing and is not retained. We keep a small amount of account, credit, and purchase data so that AI credit ("ink") and subscriptions work. We do not run ads, trackers, or analytics SDKs.
PersonaTie ("we," "our," or "us") is an iOS application for mapping character relationships. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it goes, and how you can delete it. Contact: gwsiny@gmail.com.
Universes, characters (personas), relationships, events, timelines, and notes are stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData. If your device is signed in to iCloud, the same data is also stored in your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit) so that it survives reinstalling the app and appears on your other devices. This happens automatically and does not require an account with us.
The AI Scribe is powered by Google Gemini. There is no API key to bring; requests go from the app to a server function we operate (hosted on Supabase), which relays them through our own gateway to Google.
When you use the Scribe, the following is sent for processing: the text you submit (a book title, a pasted passage, the chapters you select from an imported book, and, when you use the "original book" reader, the passages the app finds in your imported book for the character or pair you pick) and, for follow-up questions on a graph, the relevant character names, relationships, and events from that graph.
No sign-in is required. The first time you use the AI Scribe or make a purchase, the app creates an anonymous account for you on our server. It is a random identifier with no email, name, or device identifier attached. It holds:
Optional sign-in. You may sign in with Apple or Google. When you do, we additionally store the email address provided by the sign-in provider (for Sign in with Apple this may be Apple's private relay address), the provider's user identifier, and the display name, handle, and short bio you choose to set in the app. We use this only to identify your account and show your profile in the app. We do not send marketing email.
Subscriptions and ink top-ups are sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment method. To grant what you bought, our server receives the App Store transaction data (transaction identifiers, product identifier, purchase and expiration dates) from the app and from Apple's App Store Server Notifications, and stores the resulting entitlement and a record of processed transactions. Purchases do not require signing in; they are attached to your anonymous or signed-in account.
If you are outside the United States, account and metering data described in sections 2–4 is transferred to and processed in the United States.
PersonaTie is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. The in-app account deletion covers everything we hold about you. For anything else, email us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
If we materially change this policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
