No. Everything on the bookshelf, the graph canvas, editing, timelines, the AI Scribe, and purchases work without signing in. Signing in with Apple or Google is optional and only adds a display name, handle, and profile.
Yes, automatically, as long as your device is signed in to iCloud. Graphs are stored in your own private iCloud database, so they come back after reinstalling and appear on your other devices signed in to the same Apple ID. Give a fresh install a minute or two to download. Imported book text (EPUB) stays on the device it was imported on and is removed when you delete that graph; reimport the file on a new device if you want to read through it again.
A Universe is a scoped network of characters and relationships. PersonaTie has four classes:
A single real person — like Su Shi — can appear in multiple universes (the Song Dynasty history, a biographical work, your own historical fiction). PersonaTie lets each appearance be its own independently-editable Persona, while keeping them cross-linked. Open any character's detail panel to see their other personas.
The Scribe is powered by Google Gemini through our own server. There is no API key to bring and no model to choose. Name a book and it drafts the cast and weaves the relationships; tap any character, relationship, or empty canvas to ask for more; paste a passage or import an EPUB and pick chapters for it to read through. You decide what gets added to your graph.
Ink is the AI credit the Scribe spends. Every new user gets 500,000 ink free, no account needed. PersonaTie Pro (风雅版) includes 2,500,000 ink per month, and you can buy top-up packs (2M or 7M ink) that never expire. Ink is charged per request based on the actual model usage; failed requests are never charged. Long books use more ink than short ones.
Unlimited graphs (the free tier allows 3) and 2,500,000 ink each month. Monthly or yearly, billed through the App Store. Cancel any time in iOS Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.
Tap the seal at the top-right of the bookshelf › 管理订阅 › 恢复购买 (Restore Purchases) while signed in to the same Apple ID you bought with. If it still doesn't appear, email us with the date of purchase.
Graphs: delete them in the app, or clear the app's iCloud data in iOS Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Storage. Account (ink balance, purchase records, profile): tap the seal › account › Delete Account. See the Privacy Policy for what is stored where.
Only the text you send to the Scribe (a title, a pasted passage, selected chapters, passages found in your imported book for a character you pick, and the relevant names and relationships from your graph) is relayed to Google Gemini for that request. We do not store it on our servers, and Google processes it only to answer that request. Your graphs themselves live on your device and in your private iCloud.
