Do I need an account to use PersonaTie?

No. PersonaTie is local-first. All your universes, characters, and relationships live on your device. There is no login, no cloud requirement, and no subscription gate on your own notes.

Will my data sync across my iPhone, iPad, and Mac?

iCloud sync is planned for a future update. For now, data lives on a single device. If you need to move data, use the JSON export from the Settings tab.

What is a "Universe"?

A Universe is a scoped network of characters and relationships. PersonaTie has four classes:

• Works: novels, classical literature, films, drama.
• History: era-based circles like the Northern Song literati or the Tang court.
• Family: genealogy trees with generational depth.
• Original: your own fiction, worldbuilding, or role-play universe.

What is the Cross-Universe Persona Index?

A single real person — like Su Shi — can appear in multiple universes (the Song Dynasty history, a biographical work, your own historical fiction). PersonaTie lets each appearance be its own independently-editable Persona, while keeping them cross-linked through the index. This is the feature no other relationship tool offers.

How does the AI Studio work?

The AI Studio uses Google Gemini to suggest characters and relationships you may have missed for a given era or work. It is opt-in: you must provide your own Gemini API key in Settings, and you remain in full control of what gets added to your canvas.

Is my data shared with Google?

Only when you explicitly use the AI Studio. In that case, your prompt text (the era, work, or characters you ask about) is sent to Google Gemini. We do not store, log, or transmit your underlying universe data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
